Search for Land for Solar Plants

Within its Strategic Plan for national and international expansion OPDE is promoting Solar Plants in key Italian, Greek and American markets, as well as in Spain where it has a number of active Solar Plants and others in the project stage.

The characteristics of the land  where this type of promotion is carried out would be:

• Dimensions from 15 hectares (150.000 m²) per plot, without having to connect several plots.
• South facing with a slight slope no more than 3% (optional), flat, sunny and slightly windy to allow the cooling of the solar panels.
• Near a low or medium voltage connection, 13.2 kV and 20 kV, not less than 500 meters to the connection. You must indicate   the Electrical Company who manages   the nearest transformation centre.
• The land must be free of any environmental constraints and not classified as a Site of Community Importance.
• Rustic or agricultural land and with low or no productivity. Moreover, the soil type must be quite hard, avoiding soft ground or ground which could suffer land slides.
• The land can not be located within any territorial reorganisation   or reclassification plan.
• Easy access for trucks and installers during the project implementation.

This option could be very attractive to private and municipal owners wishing to make a return on land that is of no use. A 25 year lease or a purchase contract can be offered.
